Okay people, the deed is done. Kids are off and running! They are off to conquer a new year of school with new backpacks, fresh paper, clean clothes, and high spirits. It is all lovely stuff.
Now I am on official vacation, woohoo! Yesterday didn’t count because I had a bit of work to do, some errands to run, after school snacks to make, and nerves to suppress until the kids finally walked thru the door with the verdict …
AAAANNNNNDDDDD they loved it. Phew.
Back to me … today I had some morning coffee in my pj’s and went for a nice run. I came home, showered, put my pj’s back on and crawled back in bed. I watched TWO episodes of The Real Housewives of OC and then I ate some tacos.
I love my job. Thank you Mister Witt.
But before all that awesomeness happened we did manage to send off our little warriors with some positive messages again this year … I think, I hope. As they get older, well this is the true test if all this stuff is really sinking in right?
The kids received their survival kits loaded with sugar for tough study sessions, some extra pencils (for after the pencil thief comes in about 3 weeks and the 500 I already bought are missing), and their oh so coveted Free Personal Day!
I hope you enter 6th and 4th grade with a kindness in your heart and thoughtfulness on your mind. I hope you will be open to the adventures ahead and have courage when faced with new things! I hope that if the new things seem challenging that you breathe through it and have faith that good things will be coming always. Be conscious, be awake. When you find you have fallen back into the world of the zombies, snap out of it :: shine your inner light. Be humble please and always know your worth. And when you are walking down the halls of your beautiful school on your way to DOUBLE ART, be grateful. You chose this school. This school chose you. You both are truly blessed.
You guys have this! I am so excited for all the knew knowledge, new friends, old friends, amazing teachers and classes …. the list goes on.
I have to go now, I want to be out of my pj’s before you get home!!
